Bioenergy is Indispensable for Achieving Climate Goals: A Call for Ambition and Action

Our COP29 position paper emphasizes bioenergy as a cornerstone of the clean energy transition and outlines six core principles for world leaders to act on. Learn how bioenergy can reduce emissions, enhance energy security, and support economic development.

Highlights from the Paper:

  • Bioenergy powers Net-Zero
Bioenergy is the largest renewable, driving emissions cuts across transport, industry, power, and heat. At COP29, we’re calling for it to be recognized as central in climate strategies.

  • Ambition meets Action
To meet climate goals, nations must set ambitious bioenergy targets, phase out fossil fuels, and secure funding for a just transition. Strong, transparent policies and international cooperation will turn bioenergy potential into global action.
