Background
National associations representing companies in the bioenergy sector play a vital role in the advancement of the sector. At the national level, they are an important source of information for the development of the sector with the latest data on production and consumption of various forms of bioenergy. They aid various companies with the latest developments in policies, markets, finance, etc. Various institutions including governments, academia, industry, and civil society depend on the information produced by the national associations. The success of the bioenergy sector directly depends on the success and growth of national associations.
The World Bioenergy Association represents the interests of national and regional associations from around the world. Numerous associations in sectors such as ethanol, biogas, solid biomass, pellets etc. are already members of WBA.
Aim
To provide a platform for engagement of national associations, the WBA is initiating a National Bioenergy Associations Roundtable. The roundtable will be open for national and regional industry associations that are active in the field of all sectors of bioenergy including solid, liquid and gaseous fuels. The associations can share the various challenges being faced by the sector in their respective countries and regions along with their current efforts to promote the development of the sector. Discussions will include topics on communication, advocacy, policy, market development, stakeholder engagements etc. The roundtable provides an important platform for exchange of ideas as well as opportunities for collaboration.
