We are Hiring!

The World Bioenergy Association is currently accepting applications for unpaid hybrid internships and is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic candidates passionate about promoting sustainable bioenergy worldwide. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to impactful projects in the bioenergy sector. We are currently looking for:

- White Paper Intern (deadline: 30th June)
- Statistics Report Intern (deadline: 4th August)
- Communication Intern (deadline: 4th August)

White Paper Intern


Deadline:
30th June 

Duration: 3 months 


Responsibilities: 

The candidate is expected to help develop and prepare a comprehensive white paper focused on current bioenergy trends, technologies, and policy implications. This includes being responsible for the following tasks: 

  • Conducting extensive literature reviews and compiling relevant research materials on bioenergy. 
  • Analyzing data and research findings to support the white paper's content and recommendations. 
  • Drafting, editing, and formatting sections of the white paper to ensure clarity and coherence. 
  • Engaging in regular communication and check-ins with the intern supervisor to monitor progress and receive guidance. 
  • Documenting all sources, references, and data used in the white paper to ensure academic rigor and transparency. 
  • Collaborating with other interns or team members to gather input and feedback on the project. 
  • Presenting draft sections of the white paper to stakeholders and incorporating their feedback. 


Educational Background:
 

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, Engineering, Public Policy, or a related field. 


Qualifications: 

  • Strong technical and scientific writing skills. 
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive literature reviews. 
  • Good understanding of bioenergy and renewable energy technologies. 
  • Experience in data collection and analysis. 
  • Attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex information. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English.

Statistics Report Intern


Deadline:
4th August 

Duration: minimum of 3 months


Responsibilities: 

The candidate is expected to assist in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data related to bioenergy trends and market developments. This includes: 

  • Collecting and managing data from various sources related to bioenergy production, consumption, and market trends. 
  • Analyzing data to identify key insights and trends that can inform policy recommendations and business strategies. 
  • Preparing comprehensive reports and visual presentations that communicate findings to stakeholders. 


Educational Background: 

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, Engineering, or a related field.

 

Qualifications:  

  • Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Excel, Power BI, etc.). 
  • Strong analytical and data processing skills. 
  • Ability to create and interpret graphs, charts, and other visual aids. 
  • Excellent research skills and attention to detail. 
  • Basic understanding of bioenergy and sustainability concepts is a plus. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Prior experience with data analysis and report writing is preferred.

Communications Strategy Intern

 


Deadline: 
4th August 

 

Duration: minimum of 3 months

 


Responsibilities: 

The candidate is expected to support the development and execution of the association's communication strategies to enhance its visibility and outreach efforts. This includes: 

  • Assisting in the creation and implementation of communication plans to promote WBA’s projects and initiatives. 
  • Managing and producing content for WBA’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram. 
  • Developing engaging content for newsletters, press releases, and the WBA website. 
  • Conducting research to identify key trends in bioenergy and sustainable development to inform communication strategies. 
  • Collaborating with team members to design and execute campaigns targeting various stakeholders, including members, partners, and the general public. 
  • Monitoring and analyzing the effectiveness of communication strategies and providing recommendations for improvements. 
  • Supporting the organization of events and webinars to promote WBA’s mission and activities. 

 

Educational Background: 

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. 


Qualifications: 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Experience with social media platforms and content creation. 
  • Ability to develop and implement communication strategies. 
  • Good research skills and understanding of target audience engagement. 
  • Creative thinking and ability to work collaboratively. 
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and analytics is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of visual content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is desirable.    


Additional Preferences: 

  • Passion for sustainability and renewable energy. 
  • Prior experience in non-profit or environmental organizations is a plus. 
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment. 
  • Basic knowledge of bioenergy and renewable energy technologies is an advantage.
