We continued our cooperation with International energy consortiums such as the IEA, IRENA, REN21, etc, to promote the sustainable production and use of bioenergy worldwide. Our healthy membership policies enabled extensive collaborations with our member associations and companies and helped us expand our missions’ outreach.
Our publications provided a timely and detailed update on the latest bioenergy industrial developments, novel technologies, data and market policies. Two official bioenergy magazines, issues #7 & #8, were published in the year 2019 that explored the potential for utilizing biomass as an alternative fuel to tackle the current climate crisis. Additionally, our bi-monthly newsletters and Global Bioenergy report for 2019 discussed in detail the recent developments in bioenergy with accurate statistical information on the development of bioenergy (including pellets, woodchips, biogas, charcoal, heat, electricity, bioethanol, biodiesel etc.) and its role in the international energy mix.
In our events section, WBA organized the mission trip to Georgia, USA, where an opportunity to go on site visits helped us get to know about the sustainable forest management practices followed in US South East and the vast opportunity of wood pellet industries to sustainably meet the increasing demand for bioenergy and renewable energy around the world. WBA was also present at COP25 in Madrid where we organized press conferences, side events and exhibition stands to urge policy makers to pave the way for successful implementation of bioenergy worldwide.
We wish to express our deepest gratitude to our members for their support and reaffirm our mission to promote the sustainable development of bioenergy on a global level.
