On Friday, 1 November 2019, the Bureau of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) accepted the proposal from the Government of Chile to hold the 2019 UN Climate Change Conference (COP25) in Madrid. COP25 will take place from 2 to 13 December 2019 at IFEMA - Feria de Madrid (https://www.ifema.es/en), Avda. del Partenón, 5 28042 Madrid, Spain. The conference will take place under the Presidency of the Government of Chile and will be held with logistical support from the Government of Spain. The President-designate for the conference is Ms. Carolina Schmidt, Minister of Environment of Chile.
COP25 is being dubbed the “COP of action” and will build on the successful outcome of the UN Climate Change Conference COP24 in Poland last year, which resulted in the Katowice climate package.
World Bioenergy Association is an observer NGO to the UNFCCC. Following is a preliminary list of WBA activities during COP25. Details will be updated shortly.
