‘Green jobs’ buoy UK employment market

The number of job openings in the UK’s environmental sector continues to grow, despite the economic downturn which has dampened prospects in so many other sectors.

According to Acre Resources, the UK saw a 58 percent rise in the number of jobs available in the renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainability and corporate social responsibility sectors.
"The green job market has proven resilient despite the recession and we have seen a steady increase of jobs being created," Acre managing director Andy Cartland told the International Business Times.
