Study Trip to Lantmännen Agroetanol Plant, Norrköping
Lantmännen Agroetanol is the largest biorefinery in the Nordic region and a part of Lantmännen, an agricultural cooperative owned by 25,000 Swedish farmers, with operations throughout the entire value chain from field to fork. They mainly refine grain at the plant, but also other raw materials such as starch- rich residuals from the food industry. The refining process yields three main products – ethanol, protein and carbon dioxide. Lantmännen process each of these into sustainable products such as fuel, animal feed and carbonic acid.
