In February 2016, European Commission released a consultation: ‘Preparation of a sustainable bioenergy policy for the period after 2020’. The objective of the survey was to consult stakeholders and citizens on a updated EU policy on sustainable bioenergy for the period 2020 – 2030, as part of the EU renewable energy package foreseen before the end of 2016. The target groups were EU and Member States’ authorities, energy market participants and their associations, SMEs, energy consumers, NGO’s, other relevant stakeholders and Citizens.
